Hoʻōla Apparel is a Native Hawaiian-owned small business that creates professional medical scrubs, bringing together culture and care. Founded by Big Island RN Chelsey Quirit, the brand was born from a deep love for healing, community, and honoring the roots of Hawai‘i.

Aloha, my name is Chelsey.
I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, where life is rooted in connection - with the land, with our animals, and most importantly, with each other. I grew up learning to care for what sustains us - lessons passed down from generations before me, taught not with words, but with actions. Whether it was tending to the animals, working the land, or showing up for friends and family, I learned early on that healing starts with love, presence, and intention. That upbringing led me to where I am today - a registered nurse with the privilege of caring for our local community.
"Nursing is more than a job to me; it’s a way of honoring the values I was raised with."
In Hawaii, we take care of one another. It’s just who we are. That deep sense of aloha - unconditional love and compassion we extend to others is what inspired me to create Ho’ōla Apparel.
Ho’ōla means “to heal.” And healing, I believe, is something that begins with how we show up - not just for our patients, but for ourselves and each other. I created Ho’ōla to blend the heart of Hawaiian heritage with the strength and resilience of healthcare workers. These scrubs are more than uniforms - they’re a tribute to our roots, a celebration of our home, and a reminder that even in the hardest moments, aloha can carry us through.
My mission is to spread that spirit of aloha to caregivers around the world - one set of scrubs at a time.
